Do you prefer Smile by Brian or The Smile Sessions by the Beach Boys? Cant really get into the vocals on the solo version tbh

Smile was amazing if you were a stan before Smile Sessions came out but its hard to go back to now tbh

smile solo is good looking bc how conducted it is and organized, closer to be finished in some form, like we get to hear good vibrations with the original lyrics so it’s cool!

brian is older and went through lot of health and vocal struggles but he performed nicely here, my issue is jeff foskett the guy from his band who fits in for carl’s falsetto, he sounds too... robotic to me, terrible lack of soul imo

smile sessions murders everything out the water but the mixing isn’t goated, some fans stuff sounds much tighter - but ain’t that old, the streets are always where it’s at

@grimes so i wasnt referring to vdp earlier brian did stellar songs post their collaboration but this does bring a great point on how this unfinished collaboration is the start of a never ending tragedy of collaborations being cut out by outside people thinking they know better what brian should do...
