he’s the heart of the show despite barely ever being in it

They’ve done so much posthumous character development by showing everyone’s life without him, how they’ve coped, how he’s talked about etc. so when he gets to show up it’s like

It’s odd I think direction, acting, moment to moment dialog and writing is the best it’s ever been

But in terms of stuff actually happening, the plot moving forward, us being in a different place than the end of s2, the arc of the season, not much really happened. Not sure if that knocks the whole seasons quality down but definitely a pretty mid batch overall.

Although I think there being a season a year helps, we didn’t really have to wait for this. And hopefully won’t for the next season
