It wasn’t boring, it was just some reheated leftovers that they tried to trick y’all into thinking was something fresh. Experiments with the form are only good if they serve the characters and story. We’re supposed to feel how Carmy feels but it didn’t even commit to the bit and stick to his point of view. Why do we need to see Marcus in the hospital? I never felt a true sense of intentionality. Probably one of the most half baked “concept episodes” I’ve seen.
