    they should've added some reverb to the vocals/instruments, it's dry at times throughout the album but overall I enjoyed it

    Definitely. If Not For You is one of my favorite songs and it just sounds gorgeous here

    hard to pick a top 3 from these guys but if i had to narrow it down to my official top 3 Beatles albums, in my opinion it'd be;
    Revolver - Magical Mystery Tour - The White Album
    was really hard to not put Abbey Road in there, and on some days it does crack the top 3 over MMT. also gotta show love to Sgt. Pepper's but i don't think it's as strong overall as the other four i mentioned.

    The Beatles formed in 1960. they broke up in 1970.
    they dropped 12 studio albums in that time and went through multiple eras and style changes throughout each project, their growth and evolution coupled with their success and legend and story is insane to think that it all happened in 10 years. compared to other all time bands who've been around and releasing for over 20, 30+ years there's no music act that comes close to touching these blokes.

    MMT is weird bc its not an official release or atleast not how the beatles wanted it to be. u dont think rubber soul is better ?

    you see, i used to look at it that way as well, as a packaged cash grab by the US labels and not an actual artistic statement from the band.
    but MMT is officially counted as an album in their core catalogue now. the band themselves even agreed to let it be canonized as an album in their discography years after it's release due to the success of the LP version in the US and UK.
    so with that said, i have to approach it as an album and it's objectively one of their better ones. Rubber Soul is by no means a bad album or anything but i think it was moreso a transitional project and like a prelude for things to come, and the things that came after was much better in my opinion. but you got me wanting to revisit Rubber Soul tonight!

    I remember reading an article from Giles Martin that their currently in the process of preparing to do Revolver and Rubber Soul. he specifically said that on Taxman for example, the guitar, bass, and drums are all on one track. so their working on source seperation technology that will allow them to get a better mix before they start it.

    Definitely is odd, Pepper was recorded on a 4-track as well so that doesn't seem to be the reason (although IMO the Pepper remix was substantially worse than the White Album + Abbey Road remixes anyway).

    To your point, it's interesting to think about what a remixed revolver would even sound like. The really light/acidic mixing on the album and paperback writer/rain is truly one of a kind.

    listening to the medley on side 2 of Abbey Road really got me wishing the band would've really went all in on the 'concept' album throughout a full project, and made something meant to flow as one continuous track like The Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, etc.

    The said that George wasn’t very happy with the original mixes because there was too much reverb so they were trying to correct that with this new one

    That’s understandable but I felt some of the vocals were too dry like a little reverb wouldn’t hurt

    You Never Give Me Your Money beat switch-ups are so legendary man Paul really went hard asf on this track and i still don't feel it has it's dues.

    but yeah the beatles doing a concept album would likely been flames.

    If Not For You is elite and probably wouldn't crack the top 40 dylan tracks, but i'm aware that is a very high ceiling.
