It was disappointing, but I def agree. Handsome, title track, Get a Bag, Roo, Slide Around, Big Fish still get some spins

Idk how someone could try and convince ppl it’s the worst album of the decade, when there’s nothing abrasively bad about it. It has a lot of corny lines, and it’s too long, but there are great beats, good vocal performances and features, etc.

It was just a miss on all fronts thats why its hated:

• 3 year wait from last major project, raising hype and expectations
• Debut Album (even higher expectations)
• Moving to a more mainstream sound at the time (Hello Fellow Kids syndrome)
• Focused on more general topics (Family & Marriage) and didn't have an interesting perspective
• Production was mostly mediocre
• Okay to cringe inducing lyrics
• Coloring Book wasnt a winner for everyone so this project was the make or break for him "falling off"
• Length of the project
• Chance pulled most of his worst aspects to the front and made that the focus of the album
• The songs pushed as the singles were the most polarizing and not representative of the album as a whole
• Outshined by every feature

So it's understandable why people REALLY hated it.
