    Very over hated

But niggas already hated Chance anyway.

For example Cudi would not be allowed to get away with SBTH if people didn’t like him so much, unlike Chance and Big Day

The reception for SB2H was terrible, just as bad if not worse and it sold waaaay less than the big day

I am never going to play that album front to back ever again in my life

    and i loved Chance man

I think if you were in the release thread on KTT your opinion is much more skewed negatively. Plus that Fantano review thread did not help (even though it was hilarious)

but thats the thing though, everyone in here saying its bad…

but why was it so bad??

thats what i’m trying to figure out

Half of it makes it feel you just left a christain academy program

Another half of it sounds like a parody of his old music

The writing sounds like a disney channel artist can finally make uncensored music

So many features you end up only caring about what they bring to the table

Part of it was the personality change that had contradicted with his whole “nice guy” persona that he had going for him literally since day 1 (or day 10 har har har)

Someone else said it too that it definitely felt at times like a parody of chance too. Some of the bars were like…lowest points of acid rap bad. And the standouts were so far and between.

For a nigga calling himself chance the rapper it was a lot of moments that just felt like wasted space (title track, i aint single no mo i aint single no mo i aint single no mo i aint single no mo i aint single no mo, ballin flossin, 2019 kia commercial Let’s go on the run, etc) that as a chance listener, that’s never happened before on a chance album.

And even though this had a concept (rather surface level, could’ve gone a lot deeper centering around his fears, his second guesses, the acid rain/paranoia side of this stuff if you will, cause it just felt like one big romanticized “hi im married i love my wife and sidechicks suck and u suck too for hating hahaha!”) and storytelling by the late great Pops this somehow felt like his most unfocused project ever and for the first “Owbum” that’s not good.

P.S. also the 1st time my nigga Smi had a wack feature
