going through my library, I realised that all the good projects released this year were from the younger generation of artists are leading the experimentation in this genre, pushing sounds and ambiances into whole different terrains altogether.

I'm talking sahbabii, nudy, jelly, pierre, and uno. they all dropped top notch, enjoyable projects that avoid doing too much but still manage to do a lot.

it just feels like there is a paradigm shift happening. 21 dropped a forgettable album tbh (in no way comparable to his performance on WW), same with lil uzi and future. it's just that the popular names are just making generic music that never exceeds one's expectations

Future shouldn't be in the OP. He's a legend on his victory run.

I've been a fan since 2012 but his recent album was s*** from start to finish. a step in all the wrong directions

not that surprising op, there's always a changing of the guard and it's rarely ever announced.

think to how acts that were making waves in the 2010-12 period probably peaked a lot of the time in 2015-16 and now a lot of the artists that replaced them are phasing out in the same way
