lol let’s just be honest and admit that Dead Space was never as good as the acclaim they got. with that being said, not rly interested in Callisto Protocol either and i love horror games

idc what anybody says, this game was a 4/5. need a sequel, all they gotta do is flesh out the combat and this s*** will be a hit.

This game is pretty good. Is it the best game ever made? Not even close. It doesn’t need to be that to be. It’s fine being just the good game it is.

LOL you over here cheering layoffs. This whole situation just sucked. We have grown past the need for devs making entire new companies to make spiritual sequels to games that got 2 sequels and a remake.

This was nowhere near as good as the Dead Space Remake, but I appreciate the focus on heavy character movement/stiff combat

Yea,the death animations were cool too. This game pretty much came out at the best time it could've came out(Holidays, not that many PS5/XSX games etc)and still didn't sell enough. I really do appreciate how it feels like a throwback to some OG Xbox exclusive horror game or some s***.

The environment always gave me Chronicles Of Riddick vibes

It should have leaned more into something other than dead space spiritual successor. Also felt like it could have been delayed a year to figure itself out more. There was no rush to drop that

Sometimes its a matter of "we've spent enough money, now we need to make some money" situation with some of these games, especially coming from a new studio. Protocol could've definitely used some tweaking, cause sometimes the stiff combat could f*** you over. Im pretty the team involved thought the game was gonna be successful and they could work kinks out in a sequel.

    Oh well

Yeah I get that but feel like with the dlc they had the opportunity to continue the story without committing to a sequel and bounce back from launch . a Cyberpunk like situation of make so many improvements and patches continue the story and get people later but s*** was cashed.

Many cases of a game not playtesting or getting feedback early enough in development to even save it post launch. I haven't played it though just what I am gathering on the potential of some ideas like the dodge punch out like mechanic. It could be cool but execution and description of bosses and how people beat them lol

When the dodge mechanic worked,it felt satisfying af. Thing is,combat was held together by the dodge mechanic,so if you couldn't somewhat get good at dodging, you really couldn't play the game. Not to mention how it really wasn't possible to take on more then 2 enemies at a time.

Yes,I understand the game is survival horror, but at the same time, there were alot of areas with more then two enemies. Having to improvise combat mechanics isn't always fun, actually,it can get frustrating cause it feels like your fighting the game, not the enemies in the game. So honestly, could've used plenty of tweaking but who knows how baked in all these combat mechanics were in the game.

Trying to tweak that s*** might've broken the game.

The additions make it a very different experience. Truly one of the best games I’ve played in years I still haven’t put it down

Its kinda crazy how I never played the OG 4,been hearing that its less serious then the remake. All im gonna say about the remake is that it probably has some of the best pacing in a video game ever and Leon is probably one of the greatest heros in a video game, next to Big Boss Snake in MGS3.
