I dont like it, but the industries have always done strange and unexpected things to advertise their products. this just a new-ish way to do it.
im not too concerned about it “faking vitality” because most of whats “viral” is phoney anyway. its dictated algorithm bs and generally what large tech companies want people to consume.
this is a small bud on the giant tree of issues stemming from the internet being more corporatized compare to 20 years ago.
i think its still think its better than legacy media though, just a lot of wasted potential
