    mutation =/= typing.

different types come out when significant alterations to their genomes are found. potential mutations from cases like the one in Denmark always occur randomly. some mutations may even aid us in slowing down the pandemic.

With how our luck is I'd not bank on a mutation saving us.

Wonder when the next virus gonna strike too. It's not like we changed our practices or anything. Only a matter of time

Maybe if everyone quit f***ing with animals and eating them we could prevent something like this happening again

You know...since nearly every major disease from the past 100 years has jumped from animals to humans because we can't stop eating them...it's an idea anyway

Enjoy your bacon tho I guess

consumption of meat has been a part of human life since the dawn of the species

your gripe should be with the obsession over exotic animals especially when procured and prepared in questionable fashion (wet markets and similar)

    for anyone who didn't know

    Moderna vaccine cost: $50-60 x 2 doses
    Pfizer vaccine cost: $42 x 2 doses

Oxford vaccine in Europe: $3 USD x 2 doses

literally irrelevant if you live in a Western country

It's only from dumbasses deciding to eat the weird type of animals not meant for consumption originally. Blaming all meat eaters for this is like blaming all Americans for being racists, we have to pick out the bad apples and throw them away.

I'm still going to enjoy eating delicious meat, you're points are valid though how we acquired diseases from consuming dirty animals.

it's not about the effect of the mutation, it's more so that COVID mutations being found doesn't really mean much.

and we would've been relatively fine-- had Trump not been in office and dismantled pandemic procedures beforehand. we'll probably be fine during the next pandemic-- granted we don't have another Trump in office...

It's more than exotic animals it's a very deep rooted belief that we have dominion over them and can do what we please. As a species we evolved in so many ways but didn't let go of our use and abuse of animals even when we could. Sure when you lived in a tribe or a village and some animals were your very livelihood because agriculture wasn't feasible it made sense. But our society has developed past that now. It's not necessary and it's directly harming the entire planet. Has been for decades.

At least we have a vaccine, hopefully they can figure it out.

to be fair-- a very bad mutation can occur and increase the spread significantly, but the probability of it is pretty unlikely.

once we have the vaccine, it doesn't matter how bad the mutation is.

I don't disagree that the average human diet ('european', with an emphasis on meats and carbs) is unsustainable

I think you're trying to draw a pretty long bow here however.

by. the. time. we. have. a. vaccine. it. wont. matter.

Before we had the flu shot I'm sure mad niggas was dying in droves from this s*** waaaaay more than they are now my g.

It has mutations now but where we are with the flu in 2020 is way better than where we were with the flu back in the f***ing cacs being looked up to like they were michael jordan playing basketball days.

There’s multiple strains, but that’s irrelevant.

These vaccines attack the spike protein of the virus directly, which has had no mutations.

  • Nov 17, 2020

Yes they will, if you tell them that it’s the only way we can return to normal, have concerts, go to the movies, safely reopen schools etc.

Most people will get it once it’s available.

I don’t think the plan is for normal citizens to get it right away anyway.

Probably health care professionals > highly at risk groups > normal people

And more realistically rich people >>>>> in front of all of that

So it's not the mere 100 companies that's responsible for 71% of emissions that's harming the planet my g?

I mean, now I aint go to college decidedly 'nahmean. but last time I checked, 71 is more than half of 100%

You have an out of touch outlook on things, which makes sense. Cause you're putting all this blame on us like we asked for any of this s***.

Niggas aint out here eating pangolias and bats and s***. I aint ever had no Honduran s*** that had a f***ing elephant ear or f***ing testicle soup of that Simba nigga in my life. But you keep painting this picture like it aint farms and barns where people have made whole livings and entire culture based around raising meat (without the fast food hormones s***) and killing it.

We all weren't raised around slaughterhouse brochures my nigga.

You act like me not eating a chorizo is gonna stop b**** ass Shell type cacs from fossil fueling this motherfucka into the ground.

Yeah, we have no need for this stuff anymore right? we advanced as a society right?

So say that to niggas like me that grew up in food deserts for a good portion of our childhood that aint just have a "cac foods 100% cruelty free soy free gluten free egg free meat free goodness!" store just 4 blocks down the street. Sorry, niggas is hungry so yes, we buying bacon from C-Town and eating that s*** like it's a 5 star meal. Please I want you to go uptown and get on your soapbox and tell all those people that lived like this for decades to "hey guys just stop eating meat altogether otherwise you're gonna harm the planet"

Your solutions are reactionary and completely removed from reality. Me guzzling a glizzy is not what made China d***ride coal cac.

Yeah, we’re not expected to get it until the Spring/Summer.

Medical personnel will have access to it first, then the people with pre-existing conditions/older population.

There’ll be people who’ve been vaccinated for months by the time it’s available to the general public, and by then it’ll be proven to be trustworthy so people who were initially apprehensive about it will likely be less so.

  • Nov 17, 2020

find a better solution that doesn't involve blaming the people my g.
