Started as a song with Ye 2 Chainz and Conway The Machine, with a full beat and even an outro. Hard as brix
Then for whatever reason it turned to a Pop Smoke song with a completely different beat and a horrid Pusha T verse. But still listenable
Here’s what they used
Now all that’s left is a piano with poorly isolated vocals
It went from a complete song to absolutely lifeless, literally.
what happened
I always wondered how the f*** that came to be. Was Kanye off his meds and had a vision on a Fight Club insomnia wave? Was Mike Dean’s assistant hitting Mike Dean’s blunt, accidentally inserting the wrong vocal file? Did multiple human beings really yes-man the final version when Kanye presented it? It runs deep
I will never understand how this is what they ended up with. I'm convinced the song was made entirely through the stem player and nothing else and that's why Kanye kept it in.
Otherwise... I got no clue.

Insiders have a version with perfect pop smoke vocals and he went back and replaced it with lalai vocals

Tell the vision was merged with a pop smoke song called we made it which is what ended up on pop’s album

That’s my theory
Basically advertising what the stem player can do which, is really awful showcasing but what can ya do if the technologies not there yet

How did no one note this earlier before posting
Might as well include the OG OG version of the song with Calboy and its original beat. Which of course, sounds the best because you can tell Pop was in the studio for it
This the original and Calboy >>> Pusha

I think it's supposed to give a dark gritty atmosphere, like listening it from a Ouija board
There's something appropriately ghostly about the Donda version
The fact that it sounds like they played the song off a phone and recorded it on the mic?
Kind of genius when you think about it
Yall really will talk yallselves into liking some trash boiii lol
