Barrymore found herself in hot water last month when she announced that her daytime talk show would make its fourth season debut without its striking writers. A week later, during which Barrymore faced backlash and at least a few panicked guest cancellations, she revealed that she’d be reversing course, pausing the show‘s return until the WGA strike concluded.

But with the WGA strike now over, the show is set to come back Oct. 16, and those writers — Chelsea White, Cristina Kinon and Liz Koe — have declined an offer to return with it, according to sources. The production is now interviewing new writers and will be in compliance with the guild.

One week. Couldn’t wait one more week before pulling this s***.

She made a dumb & loud mistake but I don’t think she out and out hates labour movements or thinks little of the people working on her show

I feel she thought she was doing some soft, ditzy, thoughtful white woman thing and keeping the show going ‘for people who need it’ and had 0 people who explain to her how scabbing even works

She damn sure knows about it now so I think continuing to s*** on her is kinda reductive. She educated herself and didn’t go through with it

BUT then again, her own staff know her way more than we do, maybe she was legit horrid to work for and they’re glad to leave

I don't think Drew should be s*** on for anything other than being out of touch, but I also don't blame the writers for leaving after Drew continued the show without them.

I don’t think she actually continued the show she just said she would validly got s*** on and then cried & said sorry/didn’t do it etc

But like you said her staff are valid in what they’re doing since they were the ones actually working there to begin with
