Really? Then why am I seeing my class lists shrink down day by day because my students and their families are packing up and self deporting or leaving because their dad was just taken by ICE? Those are just regular people that watched the Grammys and talked about it afterwards because I made sure they did. Or what about the stories I read on HS friends facebooks about their families being destroyed by ICE? They’re constantly reposting s*** including the lame celebrities that shouldn’t have said anything at all.
Using whatever platform you have to speak out is always an objectively good thing. It’s not my fault you’ve become so f***ing cynical that you can’t grasp that people sometimes need a little bit of hope from their favorite celebrities or for someone with power to echo what they’ve been feeling.
Just because it rings hollow for your soul doesn’t mean it doesn’t mean a lot to a 12 year old kid watching it. Dont ever try to speak for the s*** I believe in

I think if we wasn't in the most apathetic of times among the national consciousness, the "silence" of rappers wouldn't be as much of an issue as it is.

Taylor Swift is a loser and sooner or later her fanbase gonna look back and be like how she never really used her platform for s*** besides "my boyfriend's red D***" is kinda wack.
I think people expect rappers because hip hop was always kinda looked at as the "political" genre. And as the youngest of genres was seen as where you would get the "real s***"
