I love Kendrick.. But, he had an entire album focused on California and didn't say anything about ICE at the Grammys.. How is that possible?

Rap was always about rising up against the powers that are oppressing the people and now we lost the plot. No wonder why rap is not selling like they used to.. Pop artists are now more outspoken than rappers. It's soo gross.

Because he's a very rich entertainer interested in money

    💯

  • I don’t know if this was mentioned in the other email threads but they even flat out said jay z and pop culture had successfully pacified the revolting class in the emails

  • Hip hop been compromised and commodified for too long

These label heads are all massive zionists

If the politics are convenient maybe they’ll say something

One thing that doesnt get spoken is how much more blackballed political rappers are now. Everyone is quiet because everyone knows quickly it can all go away.

Look how they did Michael jackson

    Look how they did dababy

Kendrick before he started his beard growth treatmentv

  • In a time where our government is the most corrupt of all time, the fact so many artists are silent or in support, is f***ing sickening.

youre acting as if these pop stars aint using speaking out for their own media engagement focused on younger people aka their target audience. wouldnt be surprised if rappers didnt do this back in the 10s for the same reason. whats kendrick gonna say to the 25-34 crowd that they dont already know?

thank you. It’s a glorified PR move now lol look at Jack Antonoff’s red carpet interview as an example.

Kendrick is a genius for convincing his fanbase that anyone calling out his hypocrisy is you believing he's your savior lol.

He's found a way to play both sides of the fence.

He’s spoken out against Trump in his music multiple times and it did nothing to the point you don’t even remember he did it

The topic of the thread is asking why no rappers have spoken about Trump….

My point is they have and it’s done nothing so why continue to try and trash rappers for not speaking up. It’s pointless imo

We went from f*** the police to absolute silence.

We went from fight the power to say nothing about the people in power.

Hip hop is literally about the hip, which means knowledge. And hop is supposed to be the movement. So we’re supposed to get songs educating us about what going on and something we can step to.

YG dropped toot it and boot it. But he also dropped f*** Donald Trump. Both of those songs is hip hop.

Now we got rappers tryna protect their image

Now we got rappers like Kendrick who
say they’re not black anymore but go all out on Drake

Hip hop isn’t the genre that my pops put me on to. These niggas care more about the dough than black people.

    This s*** is over.

    Kendrick Lamar silence is telling

When a rapper does speak out especially if they do it via music they’re gonna get called try hard

Getting called try hard is worth standing for something . It’s why I became such a huge fan of Lupe and took political action while young and got involved in my community. Because if it mattered to an artist making that much why couldn’t I try or explore the issues rather than ignorance is bliss . Many rappers saying nothing . Standing for nothing . Ignorance is bliss . Not our problem attitude besides tap dancing for a democratic candidate is part of our issue

Cardi B spoke more on politics than most of the rappers .Kehlani makes songs about folding clothes but stood up for Palestine . The issue is record execs telling them they will get black balled and often incentivizing staying dumb only speaking on allowed topics
