why is it only rappers responsibility? all these problems existed before Trump, why is it only anti-hiphop now? cause they didn’t wear some ICE pins and say f*** ICE/Trump at awards shows?

    It’s pretty bad

To be honest after critiquing him for dancing in front of American flag and watch the party die . When I saw him collaborating with Willy I was like damn I may have been wrong about him . The back up dancer who did speak out was brave as f*** and was not sued

  • backshot basquiat

why would they talk about it when the so called goat of genre is in the files himself, f*** that camel looking prick

No one said that, it’s just the only genre that’s shockingly silent. Pop stars, country stars, rockstars all been speaking out

What changed after Lil Baby’s “the bigger picture”

Why are you so invested in reinforcing your world view, that you’ve closed your mind to the possibility of hope?

You’ve devolved into what aboutism and put yourself in the service of a machine that hates you to defend a rapper you’re a fan of.

    You’ve basically become a homunculus

What changes if a rapper speaks up?

That was all listed in the first large post of mine today you responded to and I’m not retyping it all

It can inspire a younger generation of artist and non artist to get engaged in their communities to affect change and volunteer

Bad bunny is a hypocrite who refused to tour the US because of ICE but accepted the Super Bowl

that's not hypocritical at all. Was actually one of the dopest things an artist could ever do.

Also this conversation is bias cause we all know you don't even like Bad Bunny like that.

Imagine if more rappers or entertainers just...stopped performing in certain states and cities that are known for doing f*** s***?

national outcry over Arizona being the last state to recognize MLK Day led to not only state-wide boycott but also the Super Bowl being moved to Cali.

Guess what happened the following year?

    I don’t think it’s only rap’s responsibility. I don’t wholly agree with the thread

    But I do think it’s everyone’s responsibility

You brought up other artists speaking out on political topics. I gave you an example of one that did in a popular song. What material change did that have. You still can’t answer it. Calling it “whataboutism” is a deflection

nobody who is actually being affected by Trump was watching the f***ing Grammy’s or is on IG liking and reposting pop stars bringing attention to nothing they are actively partaking in trying to change as they get richer by the day from people like you now adding to their algorithm so they can keep saying f*** Trump at shows while a little American boy still waiting to reunite with his dad thanks to ICE assuming they illegal

  • What is there to be said? Information consumtiom is different comparet to back then

Everybody is outraged at these things happening already
