It's a movie terrified of being bad
My new benchmark for "fine"
1. Superman
2. Thunderbolts*
3. Fantastic Four
Couldnāt agree more
The world design is peak
Great soundtrack
Story pretty generic with little depth
Galactus wasn't compelling at all but he looked badass
Silver surfer was pretty lame liked character better in the 2007 movie
The thing was awesome tho
Not really sure how I feel about the movie. Amazing visuals, but the story felt hollow? Not sure how to properly explain. I want to watch it again cause maybe I was missing something but it definitely did not scratch that itch I was hoping for. I think Thunderbolts* clears this by a good amount.
I was really wanting to like this, I even got really excited when it was getting closer to watching but nothing really got me thrilled or hype? Not saying that's the only measure to have for a movie but it just felt like something was off or missing overall. Like it was just consistently fine but nothing that its potential ceiling could be.
Wonder why they didnāt do a practical set for Galactus? Have him in a practical suit and create a set thatās scaled down? He looked like a PS3 character.
I think this is well said. I feel about the same. This movie isnāt offensively bad or a disaster, but it feels very flat. For me I think there was a disconnect between the 1960s retro-futurist aesthetic and the performances. The reason it worked in WandaVision was because that show was winking at the sitcoms of the 50s, 60s, 70s. The screenplay here feels hollow as you said. The story is very comic book 101. At least Vanessa Kirby killed it. I also think the second act space sequence was genuinely great. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie just never reaches that level.
When Sue was complaining about being busy because of the baby and Johnny says āitās almost like you chose thisā
The scene in space is honestly one of the best sequences in the mcu
The whole starting with when they leave earth and the whole chase and the black hole etc.. insane
it was so intense man
8/10 the trip to galactus and the black hole scene were fire, I could have use a lil more action though maybe a minor villain in the beginning or another skirmish with the silver surfer
thatās why i wished they just made the movie a tad bit longer and instead of skipping all the fights in a compilation actually have one of the fights
Wouldn't silver surfer have found their planet even if their plan succeeded and it'd have gotten transported to an unknown place far away.

yeah they said wherever they were transferring it to it wouldnāt be found for millions of years

Yeah I didn't understand the reasoning behind it, also didn't their transport tech need a receiving terminal along with a sending beacon. I remember the egg needing it.

Lmao wait
Thatās a good ass point
Thatās a clear plot hole ā°ļø
The new theory about him changing his face to Tony is weird and convoluted I donāt think thatās the case. I think heās using magic to pull at Franklinās powers to see what he can do with them.
Remember the Latveriaās leadership gone. Victor is so vain that heād never send someone else to make decisions for his nation. That was 4 years before the post credit. Heās been out doing Rabum Alal and Black Swan business. The 4 years gone was probably 20 for him like in Hickman.
really hope we get swans, priests, mapmakers & beyonders in doomsday/sw
So what Iām getting from the reviews is the 2000s robbed us of jessica alba being a marvel mainstay because ofā¦2000s ass writing.
writing really matters. Iām glad the younger generation is getting the fantastic 4 movie we didnāt get as kids.

Speak for yourself I loved those f4 movies

Swans and priests potentially, mapmakers I doubt heavily and beyonders replaced by Franklin. We really could have had a faithful Hickman adaption if only they didnāt f*** it up with Kang and useless projects.
I enjoyed this. Movie started off fast and got straight to the point. I think they nailed Galactus as well.

Yeah it just lacked something. The drama maybe fell flat to me? I really wish I liked this more

I donāt get what some people want or are expecting from superhero films anymore. If you think these three films are just āfineā, the genre may just not be for you.
These are all exceptional comic book filmmaking, all in three separate ways
Speak for yourself I loved those f4 movies
So did I
For reasons that had nothing to do with the movie
