Actually.... maybe that Barry is Reverse Flash. Has anyone read the Wally story "The Return of Barry Allen" ? In that, Thawne studied Barry's life, got plastic surgery and tricked the entire Flash family into thinking he was Barry

That would still make Thawne responsible for Barry's mom's death, explain the differences in streak colors between them and allow Thawne to be Barry AND spend time as Barry's friend (until it goes south). If they pull that off you can easily do great deep dive into the real guy behind RF for the sequel. It's an incredibly complicated task but kinda brilliant.

Look at the clip where the 2 Barry's meet. Red vs Yellow jackets. Also 2 different Barry's wouldn't have 2 different color streaks
