Actually Barry becomes The Flash regardless of his parents dying. Reverse Flash went to the past to prevent Barry from being born but then he started fading out of existence cause he can't exist without The Flash. So instead Reverse Flash makes it his mission to make Barry's life as miserable as possible which included killing his mom
