Definition of a blockbuster is a movie with great commercial success. So far we’ve gotten Creed 3, John Wick 4, GOTG 3, Across the Spider-Verse, Fast X, Super Mario Bros

Personally I’m just using blockbuster as in big popcorn movies releasing regardless of quality. We still have Transformers, this, Indiana Jones 5, Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible, TMNT, Gran Turismo, Kraven, Hunger Games, Dune 2, Aquaman

I’m sure I’m forgetting some

creed 3 made under 300 mill and john wick made under 500 mill. we are leaving the era of movies making a 700 mil or a billi but the definitons havent caught up yet. so no, we havetn had a BUCH of movies that are BANGING the doors of the blockbuster down.

and by your definiton almost every year we have blockbusters. so the statement isnt that big of a deal looking at the full body

I worded it poorly, let me explain what I meant. Blockbuster, the way I’m using it, is any big popcorn movie that comes out regardless of quality. It’s been a good year this year because a lot of them have actually been pretty good

i feel you, and generally thats how most ppl use the word. but again, by that definition most years have blockbusters so saying "its a good year for them" just sounds like...idk, hollow.
