Why would they have all those Batman’s if a few of them are supposed to be the same continuity?

    Multiverse

That don’t make sense. They are supposed to be the same exact Batman. Like literally the same one lol.

Think of it like James Bond, Daniel Craig is not playing Sean Connery's version of the character

    Let me break this down

In DC, the multiverse consists of different Earths that exist in the same plane. What's different is that each Earth has a different vibrational frequency. This means they are not in the same universe. So for example there is one Earth where the Nazis won World War II or another where the Cold War never ended, etc.

In DC, this allows them to cast different actors in different roles because they do not exist in the same universe.

2 videos from the CW shows (criticisms aside they have handled the multiverse very well) explain it better than I can imo

A great example of the concept of the multiverse in play

In the above scene, movie Flash (Ezra Miller) meets TV Flash (Grant Gustin) within the multiverse. They can coexist because the multiverse exists.

ALSO, there are universes where characters look the exact same as they do in their original Earths. On the CW, Earth X Oliver Queen looks exactly like Earth 1 Oliver Queen.

So for the films, DC can write Clooney and Kilmer off as Batmen from a different universe where similar events to Forever and Batman and Robin occurred

Right but I thought that they were for Batman? Cause wasn’t Gordon the same actor through those movies? I was under the impression that they were the same Batman.

Like obviously Bale’s and Affleck’s Batman are 2 different Batman’s. But wasn’t Clooney, Keaton’s supposed to be the same?

I think Kilmer's Batman is a continuation of Keaton's but all the rest are their own thing
