So the whole thing about Zod is because of the time that Barry is stuck in when he returns from saving his mom. Dark Flash pushes Barry out of the speed force while he’s traveling back to the present and he’s left in 2013. Specifically he’s left on the day he got his powers which is the day before Zod attacked Earth. Zod is kind of the main villain but more of circumstance. The real main villain is Dark Flash.

Keaton dies multiple times during the Zod battle along with Supergirl. This is a result of the both Barry’s going back in time to try and save them. Batman and Supergirl’s deaths turn out to be a fixed point in that timeline. The first time Keaton does when his plane explodes when being chased by Kryptonians. The second time occurs when he fights the big Kryptonian from Man of Steel (I forgot his name). He more or less has a heart attack or is beaten enough to where he dies.

Barry mentions that since they can’t stop Zod, that universe is doomed. So yes, Keaton is dead.

To me, it seems like whenever Barry went back and changed things, he blended timelines. Keaton makes a spaghetti metaphor when he first meets the Barry’s. So it could be a Batman where the Burton movies did happen, but after the fact things progressed to where Batman wasn’t needed anymore.

There’s this a joke in the movie about Eric Stoltz being in Back to the Future and not Michael J. Fox.

When he comes back, he goes to another seemingly blended timeline where Clooney is Bruce Wayne. But then he tells Arthur in the end credits that it seems like he’s the same in every universe.

This version of the speed force is different from most other iterations where it's essentially like a dome

As he moves through time the dome kind of collapses in around Barry and you see CGI models of people and events in the timeline

Among those models is the Justice League and Cavill and Fisher are included

It's a super interesting way to portray Barry traveling through time rather than windows popping up with stock footage
