And there is no mathematical correlation between album length and the number of filler songs.

You can have a short album thats entirely filler, or a long album with no filler. And vice-versa.

Truth. Filler is absolutely subjective. Most songs on albums that happen to be my favorites most users on this site wouldnt fw.

People's favorite music from an artist, is usually an entirely different list of songs, than what the best songs are from that artist as per general consensus. Obviously there's some overlap, but its usually two different lists.

I have seen some Travis fans say Birds is their favorite album from him, but objectively speaking, Astro is probably the "best" Travis album by all metrics.

If you asked a casual 50 cent fan what his favorite 50 song is, he would probably say In Da Club / Many Men, if you asked a hardcore fan, he would probably say Problem Child / Ghetto Quran / whatever.

It’s misused more than anything else. Filler is typically a song that isn’t needed for an album that has a cohesive theme/storyline. The problem is folks often use that term for songs they don’t like, that’s where the subjectivity comes in.

KD2, and especially Magic are amazing projects tho. Drillmatic will have a tough time beating those.

Most casual listeners are only listening to playlists. If they spin the full album its only a couple times at most, and then they only go back to songs they like and / or the singles.

I'm a fan of Game but he not doing more than 40k even if he had Michael Jackson featured on this.

there have been a ton of rushed, short albums in the last 5 years that also prove that album length means nothing when it comes to quality. it's all up to the artist

You aren't limited to just one album at a time like you were in the past, you can create your own sequence of songs with how all music is available to you at any given time on Spotify / AM / Tidal / YT.
