Holy s*** as much as I’ve always seen blumhouse’s name around I never really paid attention to which films they’ve produced and their brand is and HOLY S***-

I’m now able to pinpoint the exact category of piece of f***ing s*** god awful campy horror movies that I hate so much and that won’t stop coming out. Glad I can now just use blumhouse as shorthand for what I’m talking about when I talk about that particular brand of new s*** movies. I can not believe the same studio is responsible for all this mush

idk a lot of the films he named are trash but they also have dope movies like Us, The Purge, and Split. don’t know how you can lump those in with s***ty movies like Ma and Unfriended lmao

Unfriended wasn’t their best but I could never bully a company for pushing horror movies with new concepts, which is why I love ma

any companies greenlights low stuff someday anyway, going after blumhouse is cheap imo they’re trying

I liked the movie

Surprised to see so much hate. It had some pretty funny moments, some truly surprising moments (without watching trailers I was totally unsure of who the main character would end up being lmao). I’ve seen complaints that they didn’t make enough of a political statement but just watching as a horror comedy and not worrying about it I didn’t see this as a problem. It was a political comedy that made fun of everybody without trying to pick a side. Fun movie

Blumhouse gives directors very small budgets and makes a f*** ton of content. It generates a lot of hits but doesn’t always generate good content. A lot of movies don’t get released, some get released knowing they’ll be critical flops but commercial successes. And sometimes they knock it out of the park.
