Me being from Florida, it sounds weird as hell hearing Joe say none of them have cars when money is not the issue. I know NYC is different, but when you add up the uber/taxi bill, rental cars, you might as well get something of your own.

shorty would barely say s*** if not for them thot tales of hers. I remember those days. The "views" clip that went viral was 100% Joe.

Plus. Those INTPL episodes are STILL avaliable on all other streaming platforms. The SOLELY spotify-exclusive episodes aren't. Marisa once again changing around the narrative and leaving s*** out like she did when Joe fired her for the first time (which, son was foul in how that went down BUT at the core of it, Marisa had to be fired. How you gon' reveal information to my f***ing opp at your radio station you work at? )

Nigga Spotify, a lucrative platform, has content of hers that they’re making money on without giving anything to her or having any type of contract with her.

The rest of the pod SOLD that content which mean they all got paid for it, except her. She’s 100% right.

Bro it does not matter where it is

If soundcloud was making money off those episodes then she’d have a right to complain about them too.

Spotify is still actively making bank off content of hers, she deserve to get paid

Bro im not talking about what they were doing. I’m talking about what they are doing NOW.

Spotify is still making $$$ when you stream those old episodes, that’s why she should be getting paid now.

Also btw the pod niggas made money off those s***s because they also sold their back catalogue (of which she was a part) to Spotify for MONEY. She also should be getting paid for that.

She was compensated for her work when the podcast wasn't on spotify though, so why should she get another dime from the Spotify contract?

Does anyone here still listen to Brilliant Idiots? Andrew's argument today about America's poverty vs. other countries was infuriating and disingenuous as hell if not just outright misinformed. I feel gross and mad and I'm not even that type of person usually.

I've been listening to Flagrant2 a ton recently just to supplement JBP to give a better idea of the type of person/fan I am

He's had immature political takes plenty of times before but this one just felt crazy out of touch when he thought he was really being introspective about the state of our country

Really didn't expect Charla to counter so many of Andrew's points as well as he did. Only redeeming factor of listening through

Because they're using her voice and her words and her contributions and they get paid off of streams

How does it make sense that Mal gets a share of the revenue generated by episodes from back then instead of her?

Also they sold their back catalog to Spotify, so she should have gotten a portion of that as well.

That's like if we made a song together and put it on band camp on we make 2k that we share

Then we have a dispute and aren't friends anymore, we stop working together

Eventually that song becomes a #1 hit, you're still on it, and you don't get s***.

Unless she relinquished her rights of course but why the f*** would she do such a thing

Haven’t listened to them in ages but they’re such a chaotic combination of personalities like charla is smart in his own right but he lacks any kind of critical thinking & Andrew is like a dumb ass that can use his comedic brain to express what seem like novel & on their surface interesting takes. The result of those two talking about anything remotely serious or nuanced is so woat

Idk doesn't that depend on how contracts are drawn up though? Whether you get points on the back end or forgo that for a bigger upfront pay check is to be negotiated. But If I paid you up front then that is over with. I think it would be in good faith for them to break her off a piece since she did contribute overall to the podcast, but idk about it being required.

You could say she is owed royalty checks from the back catalog, being streamed I guess but I don't know how that works with podcast tbh. If it's like a TV show running reruns, the actors are entitled to their royalty checks. If episodes with her are getting streamed regularly, then yes I would agree that they owe her something.

Never watched it because I dislike them both and this just further enforces my opinion on them.

Have their numbers been going down or up? Feel like it fell off in popularity as well anyway.
