Haven’t really watched or listened to the pod since the Rory n Mal situation, but it’s a narrative Joe use to paint for himself. He tries to paint it similar to how athletes sacrifice time with family and loved ones to be great at what they do. He says he does that for podding. He feels like he gives up a lot of his personal life for the pod. But it really ain’t the same.

He just tries to commodify his personal life into content for the pod, which in turn ends up destroying and ruining many of his relationships. All because he “loves” podcasting.

I know Ice from years ago on Twitter and I know he’s the mr “I’m not PC guy” so that’s interesting he’s chosen to be PC on the pod

Depending on the podcast, I don’t think you have to bear your personal life on the table but I do think a lot of podcasts have devoted fans because they feel like they know the podcasters due to those stories and probably feeling like that’s a way to connect with them
