Adam episode was surprisingly really good
Y’all make anything sound like a train wreck
At first I thought joe kept bringing up bmx as a way to diss Adam but I think it may have been to drive the point across that Adams bmx content wouldn’t get him to his status now but since he used black culture he was able to propel himself to another level and now he disregards some of the foundations/unspoken rules of the culture in the name of monetization and “news” … either way this was a good episode, dope to see two “heavyweights” in the pod space duke it out

They were dunking on Rory and Mal during the equity talk
Not really Rory was on the pod since day 1 lol
Not really Rory was on the pod since day 1 lol
And the pod thrives without him lol
Do you think Jamie on Joe Rogans podcast has equity
No he’s just a worker and is replaceable even though he’s been there since day 1

Lmaooo what a false equivalence.
They got no leg to stand on pretending to be a peace and love podcast they spoke to pusha t for over 3 hours on nothing but story of Addidon
And similarly them trying to act like beef isn't a huge part of why they love rap is huge cap as well, just last week Ish was saying if jay put out a diss song back in the day he d be racing to his car to hear it and joe spent his entire rap career beefing with mfs and ranting about it on his podcast gtfoh lmao

You’re comparing vanilla beef with Drake to street rappers who are with the s***
Like Joe was saying Akademiks had to deal with his own BS, maybe Adam will have to at some point too
I think both make valid points. I thought it was actually a really good pod. The key snag is however that Ak eventually semi dealt and confronted this narrative partly because he’s black, and idk if Adam will ever have to do that. Remember Ak got into it in a similar way with Adam22 because he can kinda be an aloof white guy who is reporting on hip hop when he wants to be. So idk if there’s gonna be a day of reckoning for Adam22.
I also see Adam22’s point. But the thing they didn’t focus on is that music is a commodity. And sadly a lot of consumers, not fans, consumers, are prioritizing this content and incentivizing it more than a positive one. This is a reflection of the consumer and as long as the culture plays into consumers who don’t necessarily care about the gravity of some of this stuff, it’s always going to be a large part of what the culture generates.
It’s kinda a chicken or the egg thing.
Akademiks still does all the same s*** talking instigating s*** as before, just not the war in chiraq, which he stopped doing long before every day struggle. They delusional if they think he stopped talking s*** cuz he been daring meek mill to send his dream chasers for the longest lmao

Implying drake and pushas camps don't have ppl out there who were with the s***s, stop it lmao

That was exactly his point lol. Adam didn't see profit in his own culture so he found it in another. And it's not necessarily a "white people shouldn't profit off black culture" argument, it's a "you came over here and you're clearly out of touch yet still making a profit. You should be more in touch"

he’s white, he doesnt feel no obligation

Yep, that’s where the disconnection is.
Drake has had people like Fif die from his camp
I’m sure Drake has known a lot of people who have died from gang violence but how much of that business do you think Drake is directly involved in.
We don’t know for sure but Drake is a smart person and I would think he stays out of it
