I’m glad they finally acknowledged Kendrick’s as one of the only mainstream artist with the ability to make music with substance in this time. Throughout the years I feel they’ve breezed over his accomplishments/status in various conversations.

Nah I think they just don’t d***ride him like they do Jay and Drake but they do recognize him as one of the best though. Joe always calls him Candy Man and says people are scared to mention him. Mal is a big fan and I think Park f***s with him. Rory likes him but I think he has some wild take about dude.

Does anyone here still listen to Brilliant Idiots? Andrew's argument today about America's poverty vs. other countries was infuriating and disingenuous as hell if not just outright misinformed. I feel gross and mad and I'm not even that type of person usually.

I've been listening to Flagrant2 a ton recently just to supplement JBP to give a better idea of the type of person/fan I am

had to stop listening in 2017 or whenever “alt-right andy” became a thing and he had to be a contrarian on EVERY topic. he and charlamagne were arguing like they hated each other every episode and they started taking breaks and other people come on to mediate iirc lol.

they got the flow back after that but his style of almost appealing to the right wingers because very annoying to listen to. i watched some of the news style vids he’s been doing and they’re funny and actually fair politics which is cool but i see the podcast headlines and it always feels like some edgelord attempt at being provocative but “these are not my real views” at the same time. it’s corny lol. i only check out one of his podcasts if they have a dope guest.

i remember he had a show about jokes that don’t work on stage and roy wood jr was on there with some other white guys, and i think one of the guests was telling the premise to a genuinely unfunny joke and andrew and iirc akaash we’re dying laughing. i check the comments and see something like “roy is a p**** afraid to laugh or he’ll lose his job” and i’m watching with the straight face lmao. like he’s attracting a crowd that cares less about jokes being funny and more about how edgy you can get, and if you don’t think it’s hilarious, you’re a cuck liberal, instead of it just not being funny to you lol.

Basically using the classic “kids are starving in Africa so why are you mad??” argument to downplay American frustrations.

it’s deflecting and whataboutism lol. anybody who uses that when real issues come up are not nearly as smart as they think and usually don’t care about ANY of the topics, from what they’re arguing against or what they’re bringing up to counter.

literally just being a contrarian for the sake of doing it. white people in general trump supporters love that tactic so much.
