Joe and Parks going in & hiding behind Mos’s capitalism points to get Drake hate off & then going from that directly into a Prize Picks ad is exactly why you can’t take these dudes serious

remember when parks called rory and mal "oligarchs" after the breakup
they have 0 understanding of what capitalism or socialism is
It’s painful how over their heads Mos’ commentary went. The way I understood it is.. Drake is the soundtrack to the death throes of an empire. It’s maximal consumption, all the time. I think that’s intentionally making less of Drake’s catalog in totality, but it’s also kind of true. Drake is on top because he’s been on top, his sounds are part of the fabric of peak consumerism and I think he could completely hollow himself out and still he can’t be removed from that fabric at this point. And I feel Mos, in that, if that’s the case.. Atleast make it interesting. There have been glimmers here and there but I also think drakes captive and it’s hard to be willing to completely alienate the world when they’re hyper focused on you.
Same time, valid critique by Mos, but it’s also probably mixed in with some butt hurt emotions over other transgressions
This Mel video vixen shade is great
She was hilariously upset at them bringing up Superhead

I didn't ask in the thread when it was active because I don't even care to engage in discussion on here most of the time now, but you seem levelheaded.
What are the last 3 or 4 Drake songs you've heard in Target, or shopping centers of the like? Would me asking that question be me minimizing what he's trying to say? Cause I don't see the point in using such a specific example if it's hardly true. But maybe I'm in the wrong Targets?

It wasn't meant to be taken literally, Mos comments were saying how watered down and commercial the industry has become.

That was an angle that I thought of, indeed, didn't need help with that one

I’m not trying to condescend, it’s going over your head as well. It’s not about it literally playing in Target. It’s about the fact that, for the most part, his music has just become consumerism music. It’s the soundtrack to peak consumption. It’s maximal consumption, competition, etc. which is kind of peak America. It’s like you’re winning the game while the ship is sinking, and you’re still going to be talking numbers and how much you have while you’re breathing in water. I think that’s what Mos was getting at with his critique. Drake won the game, there MUST be more to offer us at this stage.. right?
JBP cast were focused on which stores Drake may or may not play in, who else may or may not play in them. Who also sings and raps, etc. totally missed the critique IMO

When even ICE is somewhat defending Drake, you can tell there is no point in taking any discussions regarding Drake serious.
Parks is gonna suck off whatever take Joe has, Joe been hating and Mel, dont want no smoke either. Ish the only nigga you can serious during these convos, because he doesnt have that washed up ex-rapper bitterness, that is essential Joe.

You know, I won't bother coming around to my point in asking the specific question I asked cause I realize it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of what Mos was saying. I do appreciate your response tho
Why do they let flip get away with telling stories of females hitting on him?
