I think the main reason he going at them is they've definitely thrown shots over the years at him, so this is not random.

They clowned him for his content and the rappers he covers, him being not cool or "real" and a plenty of other s***. Pretty much dissed his entire platform/brand.

Now it's looking like they're Joe's employees with no say in what happens, so he has that angle. Say what you want but Akademiks built himself instead of tagging along. Depending on how this plays out , I could see Charlemagne clowning Mal, they've had an issue for years.

I never understood their gripe for akademiks content when they cover a lot of the same stuff Ak posts about or discusses. JBP most viewed videos in the last year have been vids of them talking about 69

Not only them, I think industry/media people are envious of the fact that he didn't come up the conventional way, he built himself: no internship , no major co-signs, no low level industry jobs...Now he has one of the biggest voices in Rap and that triggers people. And of top of that he openly says what he wants about any artist or label.
