It’s an advisory role, its a title with no real power behind it if the people who actually make the decisions don’t take his advice.

If his advice gets taken into consideration he can actually make a difference when it comes to getting the “talent” the compensation they deserve.

From what I understand he is putting the podcast behind a paywall wich is Patreon. Patreon gets 12% of payout and subscribers get extra content.

The podcast will continue to be available on other platforms and he gets an extra advisory role within the company.

So Patreon is basically only fans but for a variety of content creators. So I don’t really see what the big deal is.

The cofounder himself has said thats what they brought him in here for.

If they dont,then that defeats the purpose of him being there and he'll just dip.

Take two things from this:

1. Joe Budden and others are getting paid because of the fans, which aligns with his goal of creative and financial independence

2. With his paid position as an advisor, he can have an influence on other creatives getting paid as well and being more independent.

All part of his bigger mission:
