Wait so he controls or has a hand in the money everyone on Patreon makes?
hes suppose play an active role on Patreon's policies so he may have an influence.

It’s an advisory role, its a title with no real power behind it if the people who actually make the decisions don’t take his advice.
If his advice gets taken into consideration he can actually make a difference when it comes to getting the “talent” the compensation they deserve.
Can somebody explain what the big deal is behind this deal.
From what I understand he is putting the podcast behind a paywall wich is Patreon. Patreon gets 12% of payout and subscribers get extra content.
The podcast will continue to be available on other platforms and he gets an extra advisory role within the company.
So Patreon is basically only fans but for a variety of content creators. So I don’t really see what the big deal is.

well yea, they're paying him in an advisory role so why wouldnt they take his advice into consideration.
The cofounder himself has said thats what they brought him in here for.
If they dont, then that defeats the purpose of him being there and he'll just dip.

Take two things from this:
1. Joe Budden and others are getting paid because of the fans, which aligns with his goal of creative and financial independence
2. With his paid position as an advisor, he can have an influence on other creatives getting paid as well and being more independent.
All part of his bigger mission:
"Budden said he’s working with Patreon to address “everything that’s wrong with the monetization system for creators.” It’s an issue, he said, that’s “bigger than me, bigger than Jack, bigger than Patreon.”
Did Mal, Rory , or Parks get anything or is this just a Joe deal? They were on mute during this topic.
I think im gonna jump for 10 a month to test it out. Check out those two bonus episodes to see if they got their edge back

Just a Joe deal it seems like. I bet the rest of the crew get a bigger portion of the patreon funds

they're all part of the Joe Budden Podcast so yes they get paid from Patreon.
They've been hinting at something like this during the podcast for a while.

Rory must've gotten a raise, he extra perky this episode
Y’all some big time haters
Im happy for him, I think this is what he wants
It's just patronizing if he really just gets a title and the role is devoid of any impact
Weren’t they clowning Charlamagne for having a made up title? Tf is head of creator equity
I’ll probably sub to the 5 dollar tier if the bonus eps are all those topics they say they gonna revisit
Wow Joe with another W
And y’all not wanting to give it to him
Haters fuming

The Patreon job seems like something Joe would make fun of someone else for.
But since I'm not Joe, I'll say congrats to him.
