If you didn’t listen to the episode, there’s no conversation to be had here...Joe said, with parks confirming, that Spotify wanted ownership of all creative ventures that everyone on the pod created after signing the deal. People in front of the camera and behind.

a deal where your 2 friends that aint rich like you can at least not feel like they starving >>>>>>>>>>> an indie deal where no one but the already rich millionaire is getting paid and still talks about the many deals he turns down in front of his lesser rich friends

Well you should probably make that an independent point. I was addressing people criticizing Joe budden about turning down 30 million dollars from Spotify

  • Mar 27, 2021

Joe is wrong sometimes no doubt

In the world of business you gonna make some wrong decisions

Happens to the best of them

But everything he said this podcast was 90% right lmao

He can't articulate himself any better than that and if you don't get it at this point then just agree to disagree and keep it pushing

    Y'all way too invested

because joe's a "creator" and we're just peons.

Every businessman Joe d***rides and looks up to is or has done literally the exact same thing he valiantly goes against. No one ITT still has yet to have an appropriate response as to why he turned down the triller deal.

And if Mal and Rory don't come back, how does that affect your patreon?

You went from potentially being backed up by a multi million dollar machine to solely relying on the goodwill of fans that are doing this right now:

No one (or least, let me speak for myself) is saying "damn joe you shoulda signed your life away for 30 million dollars" but it's more like "damn joe you shoulda had a better plan other than turning down multiple deals (bragging about them no less. that's not business savvy) and relying on patreon that the 2 cohosts alongside you aint getting a cut of"

Another case of “I hope you actually listened to the episode” Joe, with parks confirming, said that they’re making more than they would if they signed the deal. 5-6 mill/year with overhead busted down multiple ways is definitely not worth 100% of anyone’s IP. Rich or not.

Not being rich shouldn’t force you to take a deal that undervalues you. Being rich shouldn’t force you to take a deal because some broke people will look at you funny.

Breaking bad season 5 was spilt in two when it aired on tv

The second half was called season 6
Since there was a year in between

    Same thing happen to sopranos

    So we are both correct

yeah i personally cant believe there's no company out there that was willing to give Joe a majority stake partnership

he prolly would turn it down just have the bragging rights of owning a 100% of his platform

It's called playing the game. You should ask Joe's idols, they all had to do it lol. Joe thinking he can bypass that part of the equation is idealistic and hilarious lol. And I always hated how he criticized rappers for doing that like.....you were in that position before. Have some empathy.

being rich shouldn't force you to take a deal because some broke people will look at you funny

And if that's what your two close friends are just "some broke people" to you, then don't be surprised when they decide to walk away and start throwing subs on the internet towards you.

    1. But they don’t have to. If you have the opportunity to make more money prorated than you would taking the deal, why would you take it.

    2. I was talking about listeners.
