they are ungrateful. they get paid well to hang out and talk on a mic with their friends. they should have addressed equity sooner. they don't bring enough to the table now to demand equity. Joe should maybe have let them audit the books, but unless their salary was based on a % then what is the reason for the audit?
Joe was paying them more than what they were entitled to, an audit would have probably revealed some nefarious tax evasion. Rory is fed for even bringing that to Joe
they are s***ty enough that they have 1.3 million employees? someone should tell that to their 1.3 million employees
some people have no choice, niggas work to survive bringing me to my earlier point
But Rory was asking to looked behind the business more though since he didn’t believe them, if everything is on the up and up than why did joe deny that and fire them? I don’t hate joe, unlike you I don’t believe every word he says is gospel and take it as 100% truth and also I don’t see Rory and to a lesser degree, mal, as some dudes who just rode joe coattails to success with the pod.
he fired Rory because he just didnt show up
Mal didnt show up either.
this was the last straw for him.
Of course your gonna get fired when you repeatedly dont show up for work.
They're employees lol
Put all the behind the scenes stuff aside, Mal and Rory aren't as good or as interesting as they'd like to believe they are
Joe is crazy
He said he knew something was off with Mal when he wouldn’t share his laundry detergent
So Joe fired them for wanting to know more about the business? Yea im done with the pod now. Joe is wayyy too much of a hypocrite for me to take him seriously anymore
no he fired rory because he didnt show up to the pod
hes just exposing behind the scene s*** that played a part to the tension.
they shoulda negotiated for equity earlier on. and if equity was a dealbreaker then they should dipped sooner if they weren't getting any and started their own s***
assuming Joe is telling the truth (a big assumption) they are well paid. they get to sit and talk with their friends twice a week and get paid well for it
Seems like they were operating on the basis that since their friends joe would be fair to them, but they clearly don’t believe joe was and saw the success of the pod and got in too late to ask for equity. Some people here are basically arguing that this pod would’ve been successful without them, while others disagree
I don’t see why y’all got an issue with Parks
He’s fine with his paper work, and his situation, so I don’t fault him for his position. Y’all want him to side with Rory & Mal against the big mean boss Joe which is understandable, but podcasting isn’t a corporate or factory gig

Maybe they just assumed a friend wouldnt do that to them and thought everything was good for a long time.
I cant blame them for being naive, even if you could, but I dont think someone that you are that close with... to f*** you over like that/this.
Joe is crazy
He said he knew something was off with Mal when he wouldn’t share his laundry detergent
nigga wanted to seem so deep on that point lmao
maybe bro picky bout his s*** 🤷🏽♂️
Idk the numbers admittedly, so I’ll take your word for it, and concede on that end.
But like Joe says in his arguments about numbers with execs, I was more so talking about impact, feeling, and word of mouth. Don’t think I’ve really seen people be like “I wish x artist would do an interview with Joe!”. They say it for the podcast, but not him alone.
Apart from the first 2 episodes of Pull Up, I haven’t watched any from beginning to end. But that’s just me. I’m not solely listening to the podcast just for Joe. Let alone him interviewing people 1on1.
Completely agree with most of what you’re saying, I just disagree on the part that people don’t tune in for just Joe.
He’s almost the sole reason why people tune in, Ice and Ish being on the podcast during those 6 weeks proved that Mal and Rory were very much so replaceable.
I can see what you’re trying to say but I just don’t fully agree with it
Joe is crazy
He said he knew something was off with Mal when he wouldn’t share his laundry detergent
s*** then im crazy too. you live w me under the same roof, I'm looking out for you while you looking out for yourself

Parks is essentially saying bro Im getting paid, idc bout all that other s***

that i don’t get but the d***riding is nasty, let joe get his s*** off alone lmao
