how is joe gonna move forward tho? he’s gonna have to completely change the format for the pod all this “antisocial i don’t like doing interviews” s*** not finna cut it if he’s tryna play the long game. Gillie and Nore winning right now because they bring guests on.
And switch up the other pods on the network nobody watching that s***
You aint been keeping up with joe moves, he's been threw that "I'm antisocial" gimmick away lol.
hasn't he mostly manipulated women? has he manipulated friends like that?
ultimately I just think Rory and Mal started thinking they were key, irreplaceable parts of the podcast. compare this to Call Her Daddy. they were paying the bills for Barstool. they kept the lights on. when they went on strike, Barstool basically HAD to give them what they wanted. the CEO said so himself. covid was going on, the network had to keep the lights on. every week Call Her Daddy went without recording, he was losing hundreds of thousands in revenue
Rory and Mal had zero leverage. they overestimated their value
I mean if you just manipulated women that don't make you any less of a liar lol. I'm sure Rory and Mal have reasons to believe they felt manipulated at times.
She probably doing this off the strength for a friend.
But she’s also a known cut throat business women. I don’t think she would of done it if the numbers weren’t right

The kevin samuels interview was the best move he’s made in a while but he does that like twice a year. or he’ll call somebody for 10 minutes
But she’s also a known cut throat business women. I don’t think she would of done it if the numbers weren’t right
She a cut throat business women that's a "creator" and might be genuinely friends with Joe.
well im not gonna make it about you then but niggas who was egging on Taxstone to do something are the same ppl who called him stupid after he got locked up
Well those people are stupid because Taxstone clearly had a lot going for himself. I'm talking about the type of dudes that Drake is referring to when he says "my dawg will probably do it for a louis belt..."

Kind of like how Joe overestimated his value with Spotify...?

Why would you put your mans freedom at risk just to silence Ak of all people?
Kind of like how Joe overestimated his value with Spotify...?
yeah, exactly like that. and Joe is no longer with Spotify. just like Rory and Mal are no longer with Joe
Joe overestimated his value, but there's a difference between doing that when you at least have some value and when you have none at all. Everyday Struggle tanked after Joe left
also Joe didn't ask to see Spotify's books
both parties handled things poorly. better communication would have helped. but Rory and Mal thought they were bosses but they are workers

I'm simply stating that this is the only kind of person that could do something to Akademiks.

Joe did ask to see Spotify's data.
he was ranting about Spotify keeping things hidden from him. They wasn't the books.
Someone reckless and self-destructive needs to catch Akademiks slipping, that's the only kind of person that could shut him up for good.
lol imagine risking your freedom and potentially throwing your life away to teach a lesson to an online troll / broadcaster. some bum s***
it would def take someone very reckless and self destructive and stupid. but AK is pretty on point about his security. he isn't a dumbass

Joe did ask for information from spotify and Rory and Mal did bring value to the podcast even if the podcast still thrives after their departure

You gotta know when to take your chips and get out when you do business with Joe before the self destructions occurs. He shows the signs every time, Parks knows
You can’t say you don’t have a passion for podcasting then try to leverage the podcast
Joe really a master manipulator he understands narrative is everything in media. and his fans believe everything he says is law
Joe did ask for information from spotify and Rory and Mal did bring value to the podcast even if the podcast still thrives after their departure
yeah i get all this. would be good to hear Rory and Mal perspective so we could know the timeline. because if Rory was asking for an ownership stake and YouTube split years ago and Joe said no, then Rory should have either left right then and there or build his brand and his own platform so he'd have leverage down the line and be able to do his own thing. instead he did the worst of all worlds. didn't really build himself as a brand / personality. kept going on the pod

Been rocking with JBTV since the Charles Hamilton days
He'll be fine
I have been locked in my apartment because of near contact with a covid person
Here are the videos debating the firing I have been wasting my life watching:

Joe wanted to see Spotify a***ytics not money
And Spotify wasn't obligated to show Joe that.
Still aint stop Joe from bashing over our heads for 4 episodes straight about "oppression on the bridge"

They weren't obligated too and so he left.
residuals exist because of unions. SAG-AFTRA, WGA, etc. maybe Rory and Mal should start a podcasters' union
Highkey. The law has yet to catch up with music, let alone a new medium like podcasts. Something like that is in a dire need.
Someone reckless and self-destructive needs to catch Akademiks slipping, that's the only kind of person that could shut him up for good.
You’re by far one of the lamest posters on this site. You and davidp
If you don't like what you got leave.
We both agree.
That's why I feel mal and rory not showing up was their way of quitting. I think Rory (I came to peace with a long time ago that Mal's brain is cut from a different cloth for me to understand what is going on) understood he was bout to be canned.
I just (and this is just a theory, I'd hope it's not the case.) think it'd be corny if joe of all people had them sign a contract that said they couldn't even talk bad about the pod in any form (cause yeah, I get the not make another podcast for a year thing, that makes sense) after they breached the contract.
