I can't play it while I am at work unless it was during lunch breaks( I am a game tester and play a game all day ). Also again that game is so graphically violent that my brain is never like "woo I want to play that right now"

lol I headshot one person in Last of Us 2 and I am like "goodness "

When I was younger Gears loved headshots and still looks somewhat goofy. But after seeing people shot in the head in real life then seeing Last of Us 2 my brain is like "nah I am good " Lmfao

the game succeeded I quickly no longer cared about revenge very early in the game. Stopped playing it. Abby lives. Ellie lives. Dina lives. Because I put down the controller. I too won :yejoice: .

Lol Last of Us 2 probably the end of my violence in video games run outside of goofy s*** like Hitman,GTA and Starfield. But in terms of like hyper graphic violence Last of Us 2 made it so graphic for me that I have like no desire to play games like that anymore . I can't think of one I would want to play right now. Maybe a gears and factions but more for the multiplayer. Single player wise they kind of made me be like "aight I am good on violence". Yes Shadow of the Colossus , Bioshock and many more also got me that direction but the graphicness of last of us 2 was like "aight I am good"

lol may damn well but the point is the violence . Same way fans would be mad as f*** if Last of us 3 was not as violent as 2 (Ironically).

I respect it for what it is. I wonder if the show can really be as graphic as 2 feels. If they will ratchet up the imagery or if they will view that level of violence as too much shock value

Towards end of Seattle Day 1. Nothing really propels you forward when you are playing it 2 years since release and know the story because as I have said was dealing with a lot 2020 and hadn't had a console in years. Even if I didn't know the story however I wasn't hugely interested cause as I have said even towards the end of Last of Us 1 in 2013 playthrough I was like "aight this enough violence let me wrap this up to see the story conclusion but I have no desire to tread through this again". Like as I said Ludonarrative dissonance just doesn't work for me which is why I think most of it will come across better in a tv show. I respect it and get what its going for though. Going to try to continue or restart Part 2 after Season 1 completes.

TV viewers will digest the second game a lot easier than neckbearded loser gamer c***s

TV viewers have a lot of nerdy peeps that don't play games as well. If they do a great job with the characters this season then I think we'll get the same reaction

Yah. TV/Movie viewers have lots of content where the main protagonist is actually a bad person and pays for their actions via death || where that doesn't happen in video games really cause || the protagonist is the hero and a great person

A la Breaking Bad, The Wire and so much content. The idea of the morally grey person we cheer for being met with death isn't that divisive truly no matter how much time we have invested in their story. I don't think people think Joel was going to get a happy ending though. I think some would be fine with his death if he wasn't in their mind so careless or softened up even if that was part of the point that he was trying to be human and trusting/honest again. I see both sides.

some of the best cinematic deaths were handled in a even more nonchalant way. No Country for Old Men, The Wire to name a couple
