Most source material isn’t as realistic as last of us when it comes to gaming. This adaptation working doesn’t correlate to most gaming adaptations in development or nearly anything you could think of . Because most gaming stories are more surreal

Most game adaptations in development or that many of us would consider “ breaking the curse “ or “ groundbreaking “ aren’t like any live action thing out or would be a risk due to tone or amount of effects necessary to deliver the story

Anime is the same way

Rurouni me shin is a successful live action anime but the anime itself is only so out there or surreal . It’s not just about being faithful for many gaming , comic, anime properties it’s about is it even possible or will people take it seriously when it changes medium

3 yes . I wonder if show on that can deliver . They have a lot of freedom and can tell any story so I’m in . Would love some playing with first or third person cinematography if some how they can, vats and just anthology style . Who knows though Amazon struggling so far

For the most part last of us possesses the same logic and rules as our reality . Very few gaming adaptations in development are from hyper realistic games

Again the same applies to anime

Superhero s*** took a while too but when they get into hyper realism is actually where they get hated . Video game and anime curse is partially people being able to digest out there stories without viewing most things as plot holes or illogical ( everything everywhere all at once, tenet , many others oddly touches on that gap some too. But often then they have to be so exposition heavy because the viewer questions how everything is possible )

Yeah if they do an episode like a mission and don’t necessarily hold to one main character or potential of main character dying and someone continuing their quest . The world of fallout is large and will still have some optimism too it . Hope they learn best way they can while still doing some over the top game like moments
