Most shows even for survival purposes only have so much killing of humans or done dramatically so it has weight a la breaking bad.

That’s fair but again my guess is they wanted Joel to be more likable . In a game we tolerate more killing than a tv show and he less charismatic than most tv show murderers like Walt or wire characters . Because we see their normal lives too. Here we mainly see him in survival mode . I get thinking the violence is much lower . I get thinking it may take away from story or ending
