To be honest for the show I wouldn't have minded if they met one new set of people ( just not people that foreshadow the ending as much as so far)

A clicker was what bit him. It knew he was deaf too and wanted to recruit him . It didn't get Sam or Ellie. The other clicker got Kathleen cause she was talking. If she had said nothing she would still be alive
