Yeah I really miss the f*** out of the cold opens they brought something special to the show . To show another human perspective . Also for my brain personally feels better than a time skip or skips throughout episode to see a whole segment at once . Hope they use them more in episode 8 , 9 or next season .

Yeah nothing to really be taken as a surprise from the OG gamers (At least as of yet)

Although, they have presented this show so well in my opinion, the adaption, some line for line verbatim scenes from the game, sounds, atmosphere. It's to the point where from the jump they have surprised me so anything else is just extra goodies for me. The way they told Bill's story compared to the game was down right beautiful (Fave EP so far)

It's something I'm really really proud of so the element of surprise is gonna have to be huge (fitting and good) because they have surpassed my expectations, I was just hoping for something better than the Halo TV series

Clears halo show by far not even close . It just feels like since action wasn’t focus nor should it be they should have replaced or changed from some gaming locations to do what fits . The cabin scene was dope . Did it need the separate pointing at the map moment ? No but it worked there . The show existing as its own thing acknowledging it’s a different Joel and Ellie with the same message . May be sacrilege to say though . Kathleen didn’t land at all for me but I did like attempting to give more to the situation.

And as GREAT of an actress Melanie is unfortunately even her presence couldn't warrant for that but then again this is coming from the OG perspective. I think it may have done something for the viewer who has not played the game compared to an OG who feels it's misplaced. Again, perspective I suppose.

And exactly what you said the show existing as its own but with the same message. I dig it.

As long as they land the ending I honestly don’t care . Will admit to it if they land it . Will be more difficult without a controller in hand cause that was the shock there . I believe in them . Pedro performance will deliver it . Bella and him episode 8 and 9 will take them a lot .

Main stars definitely holding their own, gonna be really interesting (as important) on who they cast for Abby.

Tension. You don't have to go rambo on anyone. He can struggle to escape from 4 raiders scavenging through the college looking for them in the set itself. crouching behind things , staying quiet, taking them out one by one or stealthing past them.

This was one clicker and it had more tension than episode 5 swarm, end of episode 2 swarm or college raiders. Why? Because of how it was filmed, sound, angles . Even those that knew how it was going to go down were like . Was the camera too shaky ? Yes lol. But play with the smaller intimate horror, thriller like settings. We aren't talking run and gun we see him having indigestion.

No one wants him to be Jack Bauer. We understand he isn't Jack Bauer. S*** even Bill who is shown as a master of guns was out there in the middle of the street shooting. They keep saying Joel is a killer and has killed many people . Many of us know what is to come . Him making clear that he feels incapable of defending her makes sense . She has been a good shot and has shown in many ways she can defend herself.

Sniping the infected he was going in and was tense with Ellie in the car. College scene itself just felt rushed way for him to be damaged but I give it to them. Violence is for better or worse a portion of the story of Joel doesn't want to be violent but is to defend those he loves.

If they don’t show me 10 people die every episode how will I know the worlds dangerous despite them showing his daughter die day one, a plane crashing, raiders attacking Bill and Frank, 2 hordes, the clickers scene, an army of raiders tearing a town apart, killing a room of people on their knees, the description of death river, and how one wrong step could trigger an entire horde of infected if you’re not careful please can this show finally give me a reason to think the worlds dangerous my god!
