the dumbest thing I've seen is people unironically saying that budget is an issue. It is like an unfathomable concept that they chose to focus on the drama and only use action in brief moments to set up for key character moments. You don't have to like it but don't makeup s***. Just say you don't like the choice

People wanting the college scene to be more than a quick stab isn’t wanting him to be jack Bauer or the terminator. Using the expensive set created with more intimate horror , tension feel is what some mean . Action is a loaded word cause really what some want is strategic stealth that lead to tension earlier in series and succeeded many times of taking people or infected out with the tense moment of “ what if others are alerted or hear “ . That isn’t a cost issue we know. Some of us are wondering what removing that does for the realism when in the end in episode 8 and 9 he will go from most recently having anxiety ptsd to injured to the conclusion of the story

Many people aren’t asking him to be jack bauer or Liam nesson taken we recognize the scale is different from a game where killing is only mechanism that the player thinks is fun . Even sneaking past infected or raiders and killing 0 people with 0 kills can be tense

those criticisms are fair , i also think “action” is loaded and some people are probably really referring to a certain level of tension via external threats . The college scene is the primary critique i get so i have zero contention with that . Since you also agree that it being a cost issue doesn’t really add up either then why would you be confused about calling it a decision from the team working on it. Do you think it’s other external as to why they decided to skip out on some action scenes ?

I think they used too much in 5 that I would have kind of split up between multiple episodes . The car , boomer , infected crawling up set piece could have been smaller more intimate while accomplishing the same thing then give more stealth like things like I mention . Again 1 clicker in episode 2 main tense moment to me of show and episode 5 car infected part specifically. Sets cost a lot , boomer suit cost a lot but I wouldn’t say it’s due to cost . There will be action in remaining episodes.
