Not trying to antagonize any fans of the show itt, but I couldn't even make it through the S2 premiere, and found the death scene very ineffective compared to what we saw in the game..

I don't think Pedro Pascal is a very good actor.. & even beyond his weak performance I disagree with some of the writing choices they made with him.. Feels like a lot of Joel's complexity has been sapped in favor of an uncomplicated repentant wholesome dad facade. Unlike what we see in the game where his complex past isn't swapped out or glossed over...

That's only fair, tho I doubt watching the whole episode would get me to change my mind.. That scene is like a microcosm of my problems with the show at large, charectarization is flatter, less subtle and more boringly literal than a f***ing video game..

You missed a whole part that’s not in the game they added which is half the episode and it’s f***ing fire attack of a horde on Jackson

if you look in the thread it turns out she was only watching clips and not the whole show cause of how "mad" she gets

not just that part episode 2 was so good like everything was so intense
