Would took my chances fighting Ellie over the gun than run into that room and become infected.
I already know the game is great and I don't need convincing to play but this was the first episode that made me wanna play the game for some reason
You fw part II?
...oh ffs just because there's like 4 hours per day in the game of ellie roaming around and killing hundreds of humans and infected doesn't mean that would work in a non-interactive tv show, let's be serious for once
Watch more TV
Having played the game, it literally makes no fcking sense having 10 hours of ellie going from point A to point B in a non-interactive piece... please use your brains for a sec
lol? why you coming in so hot - did i say i want Ellie wandering around for 4 episodes straight?
Also, i still am loving this show. But people are allowed to discuss things they think work and dont work. You can create tension and extend moments without it just being Ellie and Dina walking around doing nothing.
Show for the most part is fantastic but the dialogue is very spotty
At its worst it’s like Marvel level
But for the most part it seems to work as both a faithful adaptation for players and a captivating show for those (like myself) who never got around to playing it
Real question is… and this is something I’ve been wondering for nearly two decades now… You think they’re ever gonna attempt a GTA adaptation?

weird they didn’t mention the show skipped multiple important story beats lol
like yea we aren’t expecting the show to have 3 hours of looking through drawers

What are the important story beats?
The other folks she murders before Nora?
believe it or not, its possible to think the show is moving really fast while also not wanting Ellie and Dina to be wandering around room to room like a video game... its almost like this show has professional writers whos job it is to connect dots and adapt plots from the source material to TV, Nobody is asking for full episodes of them aimlessly exploring while nothing is happening, to think thats what we're saying is just engaging in this conversation in totally bad faith lol

You getting the impression that is moving too fast cuz you're used to the game (which has 20x longer sequences, for obvious reasons), i need to see the "rushed" criticism as a general consensus from non-gamers (it won't happen)
Oh you woke up still mad about it lol
"Im mad" yet you keep quoting me about it lol

I could see Red Dead happening long before GTA.
Ngl I feel like Dina is very easily outshining everyone else this season. Way better character than she was in the game imo
is abby in the new episode?
nope. i believe with how she is listed as a performer on the show (guest star), she can technically only appear in one more episode, which will probably the finale.
and then in s3 she will be bumped up to series regular or costar or something
Good show but the writing is better in the games imo. The dialogue just feels more natural

i adore that actress
is the show really THAT awful? I don't watch it(i played the games though).
But i came across a reddit thread on the show on The Last Of Us subreddit. And jesus christ they DO NOT like Bella Ramsey AT ALL.
The thread is them responding to a review that praised Bella Ramsey, and it is nothing but them lambasting the review, and mass downvoting anybody who says anything kind about her performance.
I'm just finding it difficult to believe that Bella Ramsey and the show itself is THAT awful, so i came here.

She was listed in 4 episodes and i assume the fourth one is the flashback at the beginning of the third one
this adaptation just doesn’t feel right man
It’s very distracting visually. The Last of Us Part II is supposed to be grimey as hell and it’s lowkey pissing me off to see Bella and Isabel looking super fresh in almost every scene like they’re about to go to the state fair
They’re supposed to be stained in dirt and blood, man lol
My second biggest gripe is some of the character work/dialogue. I don’t think they’re doing the best job selling Ellie’s bloodthirst. I understand this is a tv show and they can’t have 1:1 levels of violence but I feel like they haven’t even begun to portray her as half the killing machine she’s supposed to be at this point.
And everybody is just too expository. It feels really unnatural how direct the characters are, outright explaining their motivations or other things that would reveal themselves organically if the show had a little more trust in the audience. That conversation with Nora was egregious.
I’m pretty disappointed so far.
