Yea I think this season has been really good as well. Seems like we are definitely in the minority though, lmao.
I’m mostly treating this show as its own thing instead of a direct and faithful adaptation of the source material. Craig Mazin has made it clear since season 1 that he isn’t interested in doing a 1:1 adaptation of the games, and instead wants to explore the material in his own way .
And I think the show is much much more enjoyable when you aren’t constantly comparing it to how things play out in the game

This is probably true because I have no idea what happened in the games and have loved the show. I almost got pissed off when they went into two slow Ellie guitar songs in B2B eps but that ended pretty quickly
If it’s TheLastOfUs2 sub it’s just a giant hate sub
Im seeing that now. Saw this interaction
Person A: why is the writing so out of place here. Dina’s actress is so still, and she’s out of character
Person B: the writer’s probably knew that Bella is too terrible of an actress to pull off the acting required for a lot these scenes. So they probably had to rewrite things in a stiff way to accommodate for Bella being awful.
(A top comment)
Me: alright, i think it’s a bit ridiculous that yall are blaming EVERY
THING yall dont like about the show on Bella lol
(Gets downvoted)
Lol

Lolll , the song Ellie performed last week was mostly just for fan service for game fans tbh. The game is extremely dark and that scene is one of the very few times in the game where you get a light hearted moment, so it’s become a fan favorite scene from the games
Like I’m constantly hearing people say stuff like “well game Ellie wouldn’t do that!” . But people gotta realize game Ellie and show Ellie just simply aren’t the exact same people, and that also applies to pretty much every other character
I’m definitely not saying that the show is above criticism, but if you’re constantly comparing the characters motives and actions to the game, you are not going to be able to really enjoy the show

Def not a minority, haters are just the loud one
GREAT title for the finale (iykyk)

Yea I always gotta keep in mind that the hate will always be louder than the positive reactions
My prediction for how the finale will go
It’ll start off with Ellie returning to the theater covered in Nora’s blood. Jessie and Dina will be in the theater, and Jessie will be trying to patch up Dina’s wound. Jessie will tell Ellie that they need to locate Tommy, and then get Dina back to Jackson ASAP so she can recover.
Ellie will agree, and her and Jessie will go searching, during their search they’ll overhear WLF soldiers saying that a sniper is firing at them. Jessie will know they are talking about Tommy and he’ll head that direction to try and help him, but Ellie will go towards the aquarium to find Abby instead.
Then we’ll get the scene of her killing Owen and Mel. And then I think the final scene will play out pretty much the same as the game. Jessie will die, Tommy will be shot, and Abby will give the “you wasted it!” speech. Then cut to black.
...u just described exactly how it happens in the game
the biggest question is how they gonna portray the final scene, cuz maybe they show abby arriving at the theater before getting in, and maybe they even just end it there

I know lol. But that just seems like the most logical way things will play out, Craig has made a lot of story tweaks but I think the finale will overall be pretty faithful to the source material from the way things are looking right now
Ellie going in
I have nothing against Josh Peck but he is so incredibly distracting lol. Maybe it’s the way he talks but he always seems so out of place
Took me out lol
That final stretch of episode 5 was pretty creepy and a solid callback to the cold opening
"you sound" dude you ARE dumb asf
Is not about understanding that scene, is about understanding the approach they taking in the show in regard of ellie's trauma, how she wants to keep it all hidden and repressed until she faces one of the people that caused the trauma
So tell me genius what events before the nora scene do we see Ellie hiding her trauma or struggling to toe that line between being restrained and not going too far. As a game player we know the lengths she will go to so the scene hits a bit more because of the slog it is before we get to nora. but as a show only watcher you’d think Dina has more of that lust for revenge given her dialogue and determination in seeing this mission through despite being pregnant!
Before we get to Nora, Ellie is visibly shocked by every act of violence she witnesses in Seattle by the Seraphites and her dialogue doesn’t foreshadow this transformation happening either. We need some red lights to symbolise Ellie finally entering the abyss. Wow great stuff Maizan and Druckman 🫡
This is allegedly prestige television, have some higher standards ffs.

That’s fair but then if we are assuming that show is following it’s own canon then there really is no justification for what Abby has done.
In show we see the experts in the field in Ep 1 and Ep 2 say it’s better to bomb infected rather than seek a cure because it’s not possible.
We also know that Marlene knows that Ellie’s mom was infected when she gave birth. They don’t explore that all as a possible solution as to why she’s immune.
This is all nitpicking to me and I choose to ignore this anyways and proceed with the moral ambiguity of the game. But to change the characters nature and keep the same story beats is gonna cause some tonal inconsistencies imo
