Do you people want joel to be like Nathan drake where he kills hundreds of people per game but never faces any consequences or even acknowledge all the violent s*** he's doing? How would that fit tonally at all with this universe?

I wasn’t comparing the two films, I’m just comparing how lazy it is to kill the main character off in the beginning of the film just because that’s really f***ed up and twisted and would make us want revenge

The a***ogy doesn't work because suprise killing off or replacing the main character with another one has been successfully done a trillion times in media. A logical comparison wouldn't be spirited away it would be mgs2 or the godfather part 2. I think you need to broaden your horizons with entertainment because this is a really smooth brain take

Also if tlou2 was handled like godfather pt2 it would actually be way better, because Joel would’ve been in tlou2 for most of the game. If Joel dies at the end that would’ve been way better, but I waited nine years to play Joel just for him to instantly die. Cheap and lazy writing, which is the opposite of godfather pt2 where Fredo’s death is powerful and the build to it is slow. It’s not just like “remember fredo from pt1? Well he’s dead now”

What about the first game made you think joel deserved a happy ending aside from the fact that he literally just happens to be the protagonist? Why are you angry that main characters actually are at risk of dying in a survival horror game with moral grey areas as opposed to just a generic action third person shooter?

Yeah I feel like it would be too convenient but I ended up liking that character a lot so it'd be cool to see him again. The ending is definitely left up to interpretation but I feel like Ellie would be walking back to Jackson to start her life back up and finally settle down

Aside from that gameplay is great, factions should go hard whenever that comes out

And the one thing that bothers me the f***ing most is why is Ellie the only one with a knife on her at all times to kill clickers in this post apocalyptic world

When you years deep into this post apocalyptic world why not carry a knife on you. Even Joel after all the s*** in the 1st and going on patrols still taking infected out needed to craft shivs

an internal conflict i dont see mentioned alot is abby doesnt know it was ellie who killed her friends and dog, as far as shes aware it was just tommy which is why i believe she let dina and ellie go because she believes she already got tommy, and abby saw the pain she felt when mel died and she was pregnant and decided not to do the same to dina, even though in the moment she said good when she found out she was pregnant

the game does alot of showing and not telling and for one i love the game for that

My heart f***ing broke when Ellie left Dina

That moment almost made me hate her ngl

But that PTSD flashback in the barnyard
