Owen was hesitant to let Mel know Abby was there because that was in a sense their private place and he didnt know how Mel might interpret it. There is absolutely no insinuation however, that they are hooking up. Abby mentions the lead on Joel's location and says she has to chase it and Owen agrees. Cut to black.
Abby and Owen only hookup at the end of Abbys day 1, after she leaves Lev and Yara in the trailer. Owen tells her what happened with Danny and that he plans to go to Santa Barbara. Abby is pissed at him, and they get into a fight which devolves into sex.
Manny earlier brought up that they were taking assignments together, not Mel. And Manny himself says something like 'I'm only messing with you guys' and 'oh look you're bonding already' when they both get pissed at him stirring the pot.
Bro go back and watch the cutscene. Abby specifically said "Put my name up there Owen or is it that Mel doesn't know that I'm here" to which Owen look shook and say "Oh yeah I will she knows totally ok" if that's not cheating f***boy logic than idk what to tell you bruh.

You're misinterpreting the story and plugging in an insinuation of cheating that is never made.
I'm not denying that there is sexual tension to an extent and a degree of comfort that can exist between exes. Just as there is when Abby and Owen head up to the overlook point at the start of the game, and Abby jokes how she's had her fill of Owen in the past.
Sexual tension does not equal cheating.
