Game def not overrated
Just based on general reactions to the sequel proves the first one is generally overrated still a great game. But the story was cool but really carried by the performances. Also gameplay was just ight and got very old during the last stretches of the game.
Tlou2 > Tlou
Nigga f*** manny
Bro didn’t even know Joel
Huh? They're all ex-fireflies. Everybody that was there was apart of the fireflies.
Manny
Owen
Mel
Nora
Jordan
Leah
Where all Abby friends pre-WLF. There's a artifact you pick up that talk about getting Manny father help from the WLF and hoping they don't see him as useless. Manny is the only one you travel with and see that he's extremely loyal to Abby.

STG niggas dont pay attention to the story when they play the game
There’s a chunk of the game where Ellie travels to santa Barbra and in her notes describes she was in the outer skirts of Las Vegas...would be cool as a dlc tbh

Yo seeing a torn down post apocalyptic Las Vegas seems so dope
Tbh I was starting to like Abby NGL, but I hated that they made me controller her during that Ellie fight in the theater. Like it was brutal beating up Ellie.
thats the only part of the game i didnt like i didnt want to be playing as either of them during that

ya I was shocked by how hard that scene was to play, and then I felt the exact same way in the final fight. I didn’t realize how much I sympathized for Abby until then
also hey man how are you

Yeah and you can tell people skipped over a lot. From me 100% the game I got to read a lot of the artifacts and journal entries that pieced together parts that ND didn't fit into a flashback. But it's no way you can miss that all of Abby friends were ex-fireflies. I mean it's even a flash back where Abby dad mentions damn near all of them. Nora and Mel were trained by Abby's father.
People that missed out on the artifacts missed some really sad stories. Also some artifacts start to show Abby's change. Like when you first take over playing her in chapter 6 she doesn't like Seraphites at all but by the end of Chapter 9 when you're on the island her entire personality softens towards them. So when you're picking up artifacts she's no longer calling them a killer cult but feels sorry for them.
The elderly couple that was split up by FEDRA
The guy that was attacked by Seraphites while trying to get medicine back to his pregnant wife
The elderly Asian guy that wouldn't abandon his store and died praying someone would end the outbreak 😢😢
The family that was stuck helplessly while infected was trying to break in so they committed suicide
Boris story was tragic
The Jules storyline
i just wanted the best for both of them by the end

i was prepared to stand with ellie whatever she decided!! v glad she didn’t tho
and yeah I still pop in here and there ya know how it is

The craziest one was the guy who locked up those haters in the garage/shed

Oh f*** I forgot about that one. Man's really got his revenge by locking people in a spore infested garage. That was wild.

Yeah reading the notes about people in the world of TLOU is one of my favorite parts of the game really
So annoying when you see people on twitter making posts praising this game, and there is always a couple people in the comments who feel the need to say
"Shit story though"
"Abby sucks though"
Like if you hate the game thats fine, but why do you keep feeling the need to tell everyone everyday?

cuz they got nothing else better to do with their lives other than be keyboard warriors all day lol
Soundtrack is flames

Longing, Beyond Desolation, Grieving, Unbroken and The Last of Us Part II are my favorites. Longing should honestly be called Abby’s Theme cuz that music is littered throughout her half and just sounds so beautiful.
I feel the game could’ve been trimmed a few hours. The final stretch in Santa Barbara was very okay, The game didn’t finish as strong as I was hoping. Overall I’d give it an 8/10 or so. Gameplay great, Abby was given the better gameplay which was likely intentional to make you like her more. I wish Ellie’s story had us play with her and Joel and had those relationship issues be the central point of her story instead of the cycle of revenge. It’s cliche, and while the first game’s story was generic, it was aided by the fantastic cast of supporting characters as well as the relationship dynamic between Joel and Ellie. Abby and Lev had a more engaging story, which would’ve been fine standalone but they tried to use her story as means to humanize her after introducing her as Joel’s killer. Don’t think that approach worked too well for people lol.
Edit: game relies a bit too heavily on flashbacks as well to me

Easily some of the best parts. Those alone could get dlc

I love the people that didn't play the game and only read the script or saw the alpha footage and don't know the ending was changed.
