Everything is built on societal pressure, p****/boob size, height/weight/race preferences. But that's how it's been since the start of civilization. Everyone's first instinct is to rank others based on appearance before anything else.

The rise of dating apps over the years doesn't really help fight insecurities either, since now young adults can move around so fast and focus on appearance almost exclusively since the range of potential partners expands by thousands just by the touch of your fingertips.

End of the day, most social media talk is just being tossed into an echo chamber, & most people just say s*** without actually living it. They strive to have the most popular opinion, since everyone wants to feel accepted. It's easy to reinforce insecurities in real life, if you read slander against you on a daily basis online.
