Lil Yachty a upcoming SoundCloud rapper in the late 2015 era caught his spark and breakout on March 2016 with the great LP “Lil Boat”. The introduction and really the shift of mainstream rap. The melodic era. Im not saying mumble rap because that s*** racist. All of yachty peers which we can just say the XXL 2016 list all where getting clowned and talked s*** on by the media which is ran by old heads and stuck up niggas drowned in the past. Regardless of the hate and backlash all these new rappers was growing insanely fast gaining core fan bases and overall just making great music for us that year. Nobody really suffered the cricitsim like lil yachty. Lil yachty was going from interview to interview and being talked about on media as a nigga who was garage and couldn’t rap and he won’t hip hop blah blah blah you know the same s*** stuck up niggas be saying. Anyways if you really sit back and watch yachty interviews and his body language and how he presented himself after that he started carrying a chip on his shoulder like he wanted to prove these niggas wrong. Which I’m fine with that but he made it his WHOLE career after that Ebro s***. It’s like yachty abandoned the sound that made him so unique. Like imagine if he expanded on that sound musically and continue to develop new sounds from there. Like them niggas bashed Uzi to hell but did he stop making the music that got him on?? Nope he continued to still excel at his craft and give us more s***. Granted, I’m not mad at yachty rapping but the fall off started wen QC had him drop that pop album. Teenage Emotions… listen it’s a select few cool songs but overall that s*** is terrible and not a good full project. So on top of yachty rapping to prove PEOPLE WHO DONT EVEN LIKE HIS MUSIC OR CARE FOR HIS MUSIC wrong he follows up with a bad album in 2017. Watch all of yachty 2017 interviews he started carrying the “idgaf” persona with all these radio hosts and just became so serious like he was a underdog. Yachty started doing raps 24/7 and goddamn I hate his mellowtone raps. He got bars but f*** man it didn’t really excite me until last year with that Michigan boat boy s***… anyways yea fast forward to 2018 yachty gave us Lil Boat 2 which wasn’t bad but at this point it’s like musically yachty doesn’t have a interesting spark at this point. Like he has good songs here and there and some decent albums but there’s no “IT” thing with yachty. And it due to the fact that he wasn’t media trained and didn’t know how to deal with all these old heads coming at him in 2016. He abandoned his sound to prove niggas wrong and flopped(bad timing) and never really recovered. Obviously stat wise yachty numbers aren’t awful but he should be where Uzi is at or Atleast neck and neck for a reference. Like why has carti lapped yachty so much. Imagine if carti woulda abandoned his music style to try and prove some old heads wrong. The 2016-2018 era of melodic rap and just really idk there’s no actual “sub genre” name for that type of music we enjoyed then but nobody had to take harsh criticism and hate because yachty was the one they threw all they hate at. I mean the only time the other niggas really got hate was XXL. But nowadays even old heads and haters find the coolness in that s*** now. Like lil pump in 2017 really didn’t feel the hate and bullshit because
1. He’s high 24/7
2. Nobody really cared after class of 2016 got it’s backlash

Lil yachty is the one who bit mutiple bullets and took wounds for all his peers and he don’t even know it. QC ain’t media train him worth a damn
