yeah that fretless bass just adds so much personality, i mean the musicianship in general is just so loose and interesting, but that phonk just shoots it up for me

also the new spirit adrift is super badass, just straight up genuine clossic heavy metal. top 1 beer drinkin album this year

I just started the last track but you’re right, this s*** is really good. The drums are insane, probably one of my favorite parts. The bass is grooving throughout and I really love it on this last track, and the guitars are just incredible, especially on that fifth track. Need a few more spins with this, but I’m really impressed off one spin

yeah all the parts work so nice together, keeps bringing me back to this. its so dense but not in an overwhelming way. very engaging and playful, like a smokey 80s fantasy vibe for me, especially in those slower moments

I really like how some of it sounds kinda technical and precise, while other parts are just so wild and chaotic, but they manage to weave it together and make it work really well. Even though it’s only 6 songs, they really make every second count.

Yea but after RIB it wasn't like they could have gone faster haha.. Good move for them.. But Angel of Death remains not only the best opener besides War Pigs but their crowning achievement..

That’s a good point, I love RIB but I’m thankful they didn’t try to immediately remake the album lol.
That’s a hard choice for me though, love Angel of Death, it’s an incredible song. I slightly prefer SOH though, of course I’ll probably change my mind about this later lol
