look who's consistently at the top

imagine seriously thinking drake is a more known rapper than Eminem or 50

Go to any person over 30 and ask them to name a rapper and it will NOT be drake

Snoop going from a poster child for gangsta rap and facing murder charges to being the world’s beloved uncle and known by grandparents all while being the most famous pothead since Bob Marley

    they're delusional

think it has to do with his persona, he's funny but his personality isn't something that stands out too much, but imo Drake def top 10 most famous rapper. feel like his music and memes have kind of prompt him up to that iconic level

  • I would include Drake in OP for consideration, but I definitely don’t think he’s the right answer.

I would consider all those guys more famous than him. But it is crazy how many icons he’s helped build up.

He’s an icon too, just not the biggest IMO

Snoop is a meme! He is not a staple in hip hop because of his work. If White America didn’t need a mascot for the pot smoking, approachable hip hop hipster, Snoop would still be in public housing.

The irony of him dissing niggas like Kanye is that he’s so ed that he doesn’t even realize that he’s the figurehead of the things he consistently calls him out for, such as “selling out” etc.. He actually thinks he’s made it “being real” lol Snoop is a stage clown for White America, and a mascot they’ve been using since forever to promote ignorance, lame gang-banging culture, ation, and all the other corny detrimental shxt to the black community that he represents.

He’s one of the main embodiments of what White America think Blacks considers “cool” when in actuality we think he’s one of the lamest niggas to ever live. For instance, Jay-Z thinks Snoop is one of the corniest niggas ever, but of course he’ll never say it.

Snoop is accepted by us because he’s corny. He’s a joke to us, it’s his appeal. What’s sad is that many ed Blacks haven’t even figured this out, which is why they legitimize him, because they can’t make sense of why someone so corny with mediocre talent is so commonly revered as a legend in our community.

A perfect example of this is when Three 6 Mafia won the Oscar for their song “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” 😩

White America really thought that was Black ppl shxt smh, this is an example of what White people think we Blacks think is “cool”

With social media, I feel like they’re now able to pick our brains a little more. They’re now coming around to knowing a bit more. They’re definitely not spot on, but they’re moving in the right direction with all the critical acclaim and awards bestowed upon hip hop artists like Kendrick (even though I personally don’t fw him that much or even know too many blacks that do) Future etc..

With that being said, these artists are still bad for us, because they’re still chained to the democratic plantation, and promotes these ideologies to the black community.

Still, someone like Kendrick is tremendously better as a representative than someone like Snoop.

Go smoke a j bro Jesus Christ

  • It’s either snoop or em

  • Oct 12, 2021

Rappers I knew bout before listening to hip-hop here in asia: Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kanye, Hov, 2Pac. Mostly due to pop-culture references in other media.
I think these are the most famous rappers of all time.

Really good post. This should also go in the “Snoop fell off” thread. Dude is one of the most overrated rappers of all time

  • Oct 12, 2021

I think the average human could identify who snoop dogg and eminem are regardless of age race or music taste

  • Oct 12, 2021

Tupac is one of the strongest contenders imo

He's Bob marley tier when it comes to worldwide appeal, expression and legacy. What's crazier is he died at 25 and had a career spanning less than 10 years... imagine if the GOATs we compare him to had similar life spans? The mystery of his potential is the sad icing on a cake of greatness

Niggas from the most desolated Serbian tundras with their copper wire wifi know who Pac is... He's a staple of modern culture & is rightfully revered how much he did in the little time he was given
