How good is Juan Soto because this contract seems crazy to me. This is a contract you give prime Lebron James if the nba didn’t have a salary cap.

Modern day Ted Williams
Pretty close to a once in a generation situation. A player of his skill level very very very rarely hits the market at his age

I don’t know his NBA equivalent honestly but he’s him.. especially at 25 going on 26

There isn't any, it's the largest contract in the history of American sports

Oh damn I assumed he was around 30 since that’s when most recent starts in baseball have gotten paid recently.

Sorry I was asking his player comp I know the contract is historic.

That's why it's so unique. Even Ohtani was 29 when he hit the open market
You just don't see players of Soto's caliber hit the open market this young ever. It's an incredibly rare situation

Yeahh nah bro he came up at like 19.

He's pretty clearly a top 3 hitter in the sport and he has an all-time great eye and hit tool

He is very good on the offensive side. Defensive he's alright. Realistically, he likely isn't worth THIS much money. However you're paying that money to not only keep other teams from getting him, but because you believe he is that last piece you need to win a championship.
It's kinda like the Dodgers with Ohtani. A DH should realistically not get the kinda money he did because he wasn't pitching or fielding. But if he ends up in the hands of another contender, you just made it harder to win yourself.

"Defensively he's alright" is wildly generous
He's a DH by 30 and everyone knows it
Yankee fans will be spending their holidays in shambles slandering the man they begged for back
This is even more enjoyable than the 5th inning from hell

Hilarious that they cheaped out AGAIN
I know it's stung in the past for their fans but losing to the Mets has to be another level of pain
@GEOLINK whats good my boy
Dumbest contract in sports history. They’ll be lucky to get around 5-6 good years out of him 😂
Opt out after 5 seasons?
